Celebrating of 23rd Anniversary of Rep. Act 7160

SAN VICENTE, PALAWAN joins in the celebration of 23rd ANNIVERSARY OF REPUBLIC ACT 7160 - An act providing for a LOCAL GOVERNMENT CODE OF 1991. This law mandates devolution of basic services from the national government to local government units. To strengthen local government units, to allow greater autonomy, to empower the people and promote their self-reliance, and to make basic services more accessible to the people.

The municipality of San Vicente was created on June 21, 1969 by virtue of Republic Act 5821. It officially functioned as distinct municipality on January 2, 1972.

San Vicente is located in the northwestern side of the main island of Palawan and it is 186 kilometers from Puerto Princesa City. It occupies a total land area of 165,797.65 hectares and has a jurisdiction over ten (10) barangays: Alimanguan, Binga, Caruray, Kemdeng, New Agutaya, New Canipo, Poblacion, Port Barton, San Isidro, and Sto.
